Tahuarí

Handroanthus obscurus is a small tree species that is known from Mexico to Peru including Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and Brazil. It is commonly referred to as Tahuarí, and its timber is known commercially as ipê. This species occurs exclusively in Amazonian rainforests including riparian forests (buffer zones between land and water bodies).
