Enriching and Protecting Biodiversity in Peru
$ 36.00
The department of Madre de Dios is considered by scientists as the capital of biodiversity in Peru. Within, lies the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve (TNR), an essential protective area that surrounds the core reserve and ultimately has the objective of reducing external anthropogenic pressures such as agriculture, logging and illegal mining. Planting trees to enrich and protect biodiversity can provide income opportunities for locals, habitat for wildlife, increase forest connectivity, improve soil health, and protect the wildlife of the Tambopata National Reserve from anthropogenic threats.
